With a soundscape characterized by raw acoustic tones and atmospheric synthleads, Marcel Heym, aka orbit, has discovered a way to express his immersivedream world and blend it with images of life in the countryside.

After becoming a music producer in his early twenties and moving to Berlin, Marcelrealized that he could not find happiness in the noise of the metropolitan jungle. A few weeks after escaping the city and returning to his hometown, he launched his own music project, a nostalgic dedication to his roots, and released his debut EP “Perspectives” in 2020.

Instead of being a shiny new product of the music industry, orbit increasingly turned into a place for creativity and a real community inside and outside the internet. Going without any record company, Marcel and his friends have formed a collective that realizes various kinds of projects such as handmade merchandise.

In 2021, Marcel asked his internet community to co-organize his first tour. A few months later he and his friends played over 20 DIY shows at private festivals, in wild forests, and backyards across the country. One year later, his first official headline tour in Germany sold out, and another year later, in 2023, his first European tour followed.

At the beginning of 2024, orbit took another bold step in their journey by organizing DIY shows in Mexico. Via FaceTime Marcel and his friends coordinated the shows with people from his online community that he only knew via instagram chats, thousands of kilometers away. A few months later the orbit caravan flew across the ocean to play their first concerts overseas.

In the upcoming months orbit and his friends are performing concerts from Iceland to the US – expanding their reach still guided by their gut feelings.
